Elasticity with very good impact toughness and thermal insulation properties
The Spectrum S-Flex 98A is a filament based on thermoplastic polyether polyurethane.
In the field of additive manufacturing, S-Flex 98A is a material characterized by a relatively easy and trouble-free 3D printing process. Another advantage for achieving perfect printing is the very good adhesion of the first layer of the manufactured part to the work surface, whether it is made of glass, steel, plastic, or another material.Low shrinkage during processing and very high elasticity significantly reduce the risk of so-called. waviness of the edges of manufactured parts. The difference in thread name – 98A – indicates the material's hardness on the Shore scale and classifies S-Flex 98A into the category of hard elastomers. This property, in terms of the 3D printing process, reduces the risk of filament deformation in the area of the filament insertion system into the print heads. This allows for slightly faster printing compared to other, more prone elastomers.
Gradually manufactured parts made from S-Flex 98A material are characterized by very high resistance to hydrolysis (a type of degradation caused by the presence of water), good recyclability, and very good resistance to dynamic stress.
Thanks to these properties, it is possible to 3D print parts for protecting surfaces prone to impacts (bumpers, sharp edge protectors), sealing and protective components with high chemical resistance, and thermal insulators.
