Resistance to outdoor conditions with a beautiful carbon finish
Based on the analysis of feedback from our felt users, we have decided to expand the range of materials for outdoor use in conditions of increased exposure to UV radiation, temperature, and humidity. ASA, a well-known polymer that is a highly weather-resistant alternative to ABS, has become the basis for another composite material, Spectrum ASA-X CF10™.
Our primary goal was to develop a material that would ensure consistently high mechanical properties for printed models, particularly in terms of hardness and stiffness, even during long-term use in outdoor weather conditions.
The result is Spectrum ASA-X CF10™, a composite based on a carefully selected grade of ASA filled with carbon fibers. It provides users with a thread that is resistant to external influences such as sunlight (UV) and moisture (hydrolysis), with a tensile modulus of over 7.5 GPa and thermal resistance of 101 °C. Simultaneously, Spectrum ASA-X CF10™ is characterized by low shrinkage and, which is unusual for technical materials with comparable properties, easy printing. All of this, combined with the matte carbon surface that effectively masks the layers of printed models, has made the Spectrum ASA-X CF10™ material a very popular choice among the 3D printing community.
